Representing Trinidad & Tobago at the Porsche Art Experience in Guadeloupe

In October 2025, I was deeply honored to be selected as one of the artists participating in the Porsche Art Experience on the island of Guadeloupe — an exhibition created to celebrate the excellence and creativity of Caribbean artists.

The invitation asked a simple but powerful question: “Will you be present to celebrate Caribbean excellence?”

The connection between Porsche and the world of art runs deep. Creativity, design, and craftsmanship have long been embedded in the brand’s DNA, and with this exhibition, Porsche Antilles sought to honor the richness and diversity of the Caribbean artistic scene.

At the center of the exhibition was a Porsche Macan 4, imagined and designed by artist Reyna Noriega, whose work has become a vibrant voice within contemporary Afro-Latina art. Alongside this centerpiece, the exhibition featured artists carrying forward the cultural legacy of the Caribbean, including Orane Phedon, Carole Aurore, Kristen Woollery, Deiron, Maison Club, and Nathanaël Koffi.

I was grateful to be included among such talented artists and especially honored to represent Trinidad and Tobago through my work.

My artistic practice is deeply influenced by my Caribbean heritage. As a Trinidadian-American artist, much of what I create is shaped by the colors, histories, rhythms, and cultural memory that define the Caribbean experience. The vibrancy often found in my palette reflects the energy of the islands, while the subjects I paint explore themes of ancestry, identity, and the enduring beauty of people connected through shared heritage.

In many ways, my work is an attempt to visually weave together the threads of my African ancestry, Caribbean upbringing, and American experience — revealing how these identities coexist within the diaspora.

To share that perspective in a space dedicated to celebrating Caribbean artistry felt incredibly meaningful. Moments like this remind me how powerful it is when artists from across the region come together to honor our collective cultural inheritance.

I remain deeply thankful for the opportunity to have my work included in an exhibition that celebrates the creativity, resilience, and brilliance of the Caribbean.
