From Brooklyn to Barclays: Sharing My Art on the Big Stage
✨ A Night I'll Never Forget ✨

On Thursday, August 28th, I had the incredible honor of collaborating with the New York Liberty for their 3rd Annual West Indian Night at the Barclays Center.
As a woman from Brooklyn with deep Caribbean heritage, it was profoundly meaningful to be considered for this opportunity. When I first told my mother that my art would be featured on billboards someday, we both realized on game day that my dream came true.
That evening, I arrived early with my husband and children, eager to soak it all in and take a few photos outside. Mid-pose, I looked up — and there it was. My art stretched boldly across the banner, just beneath the iconic Barclays signage. In that moment, I felt a mix of shock, pride, and deep gratitude. To share that profound moment with my family, who have witnessed every step of my labor, was something I will carry with me forever.

From there, the evening only grew more special. I was brought into the Liberty merchandise store, where tank tops featuring my artwork are now available for purchase on site. A celebratory dinner followed, honoring the night’s accomplishments. And then came the game itself — a thrilling victory for the Liberty, with the electrifying atmosphere of the arena pulsing all around us. All the while, my art stood as an anchor, setting the atmosphere for the celebration of Caribbean culture that night.

I can’t say enough about what this experience has meant to me. I am deeply thankful to the entire New York Liberty team and organization for making this dream a reality, and above all, I give thanks to the Lord for opening doors I didn’t even know existed.
To everyone who has supported me — online, in person, and in spirit — I am forever grateful. This milestone is as much yours as it is mine, and I look forward to all the continued growth and opportunities ahead.
With love and gratitude,
Kristen Woollery
